How many bowls of pasta are there in total (that is, how may equal parts make up the total)? How many bowls of pasta had extra cheese?
Now, remember that the denominator is the bottom number of the fraction (and represents the number of equal parts that make up the total/whole) and the numerator is the top number of the fraction (and represents the number of these equal parts which you are interested in).
So what fraction of the the bowls had extra cheese?
